Sengled’s LED Smart Bulbs Are More Than Meets the Eye

One of Sengled’s tag lines is “Be Surprised”; and if you had walked into CES Unveiled on Monday evening without a clue as to who or what Sengled is, you’d have been quite surprised at what the LED smart bulb maker has been up to over the past 12 months.

New for this year is the Sengled Snap. The smart outdoor LED floodlight includes an integrated HD camera that can feed live HD video. The Snap also includes built-in motion detection, night vision, and two-way intercom functionality. Optional cloud storage subscription plans for up to 30 days of recorded video will be available in the near future, but at the moment Sengled is offering 30-days of cloud storage at no charge for purchasers of the Snap. Units are shipping now with a suggested retail of $149.99.

Sengled’s Pulse is a dimmable LED light with a built-in JBL Bluetooth speaker that screws into any normal E26 fixture. (E26 is the standard light bulb receptacle found in most homes in the US.) Pulse is available in a starter pack that includes one master and one satellite bulb, and up to six additional satellite bulbs can be added to create a multiroom wireless audio system. The Sengled Pulse Solo is a single-speaker stereo version of the Pulse that includes dual 3-watt JBL speakers, which, according to Sengled, makes it ideal for use in desk or night-stand light fixtures. Both models are available now. The Pulse starter kit is $149.99. Satellite Pulse smart bulbs are $69.99/each. An optional wireless subwoofer adapter is available for use with the Pulse starter kit for $39.99.

According to Sengled, the company’s Boost is “the world’s first WI-FI extending LED bulb.” Boost uses two built-in antennae for high-speed data throughput rates of up to 300 Mbps and is compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n devices (2.4 GHz). Boost lights can be dimmed or switched on/off individually as well as collectively. Boost is available now for $49.99.

All Sengled smart LED bulbs can be configured and controlled via iOS and Android apps.
